I started my car earlier and after it had been running for a while the engine temperature light started flashing. I popped the bonnet and the coolant was all gone, so im guessing theres a leak somewhere.
What should I do?
How likely is it that this is gonna be something serious?
its a vr6
Cheers

any takers?
-
were there any obvious puddles of water below it ? have you checked the oil?
-
i checked the oil its at the right level
i started the engine and i could see coolant dripping from something i dont exactly know wheres its leaking though
ill upload some pics
-
The reason i asked about the oil was not for the sake of the level, it was see if it had turned to mayo.
-
ohh, so how do i check this?

Water appears to be coming out from somewhere near the pipe in the middle right

Next to this, is this the fuel filter?

TBH im struggling to work out where exactly that is on the engine due to the picture been taken so close and out of focus. That aside, the fuel filter isn't under the bonnet and can be found underneath the off side rear side sill near the ream beam.

i cant get a better pic because theres stuff in front of it
gonna have a play round tonight whilst its light
cheers
