Title: Trimming with stretch vinyl
Post by: bmm on 20 January 2011, 10:43
I've been making some bigger speaker pods for my mk2, and am pretty much at the same stage as the fella in this post (http://uk-mkivs.net/forums/p/303714/2038914.aspx#2038914).

I've chosen to cover it in stretch vinyl rather than the fleckstone paint he used, but I've just realised I don't really have a clue where to start.  I've heard plenty of heat will help, but what I don't really know is where's best to start applying the vinyl - from the speaker hole outwards, or maybe from the thin end first...  :undecided:

Anyone got any pointers that might help?  If I can get any seams hidden at the bottom of the pockets, I'll be happy!
