Title: BBS reps advice
Post by: Dave_IOW on 19 January 2011, 19:17
Would anyone go for these?

Has anyone bought them and problems?

Opinions please

Personally I wouldn't, cheap wheels Aren't made to a  good standard usually and seem to become out of shape very easily. That's not to say these would but when it comes to parting with that sort of money plus tyres dont think id be happy taking that sort of risk,
Also have a look at the sellers feedback see what sort of response he got from the buyers of them wheels

Not going to be good quality for that money, look nice however.

I've been watching those for months.

He's pit the price up by £120 AND the picture isn't of the wheel you're buying.

Really? Hmm.. surely he couldnt get away with that for long?

I do think they look really nice, maybe not up to BBS quality, but doubt they are made of butter either..

Nah, they'll certainly be good enough. They will look pretty real too.

I just can't see why he'd put the price up so drastically.

Also, the picture is the same for all stud patterns of the wheel that he's selling.

With the center cap on, you wouldnt be able to tell in person which version the pic was from though. Lazy using same pic though,  agreed

When did price go up? His feedback doesnt go back far enough?

Cheap and cheerful is what they are. If they look as smart as they seem and I had a car that could wear them, I'd buy them as show wheels but not to drive about in.

November.

I just think that the pic is a bit misleading is all...

I can't imagine they'll be any worse than lensos or maxxis...

They're round, they look nice. I'd go for it... Shop around a bit though, they may still be cheaper somewhere else!

bah, shows not my thing, too far away from any of them anyway (would always include a 50quid ferry trip).

These going to be similar quality you think to BK/wolfrace etc? Not that i like these, but obvoiusly aint going to be OE quality or anything, just trying to gauge

November.

Mixed bag really with any of the reps...Italian ones I had on the mk4 were okay, but the last set the missus bought are shocking...took nearly a 1lb of lead to balance the buggers and the judder on the motorway awful. OEM all the way or proper wheels IMO

Yeah, same bloke...

Maybe it's because I was looking at 4x100s.

Dunno though.

Yes, but they are badly made, ugly, massively uncool, fake wheels.

You can get a semi decent set of proper RM's for that price.

A friend of mine got reps once and they split and buckled when he hit a small pot hole on the motorway.

Personally, I wouldn't trust them as far as I could chuck a wheel.

What size were they made up to? Need to be 17's really as going on mk4.

Only set i have seen are fully chrome and 2 grand :lugh:

Surely if they are TUV approved or whatever they will be as good as any other wheel?
Title: Re: BBS reps advice
Post by: dTEA on 21 January 2011, 21:27
Didn't think the lenso were that bad? TUV approval is okay, it's all the other non approved reps that are crap
