Title: REVO map or a trip to R-Tech for my 1.8T AGU?
Post by: tom-gardiner on 18 January 2011, 21:00
Want to get my car remapped soon but was just wondering if you guys think its worth the 230mile drive up to r-tech or just to go to my local REVO dealer (about 10mile away) would use more than a take of petrol just going to r-tech and back. and the pice is the same for both re-maps? you thgis is my only mod apart from a forge DV. is it worth the drive just for a stage 1 map?

A spec1 remap is a remap and is only as good as the hardware on the car,  9 out for 10 AGUs that come to us have harward issues, leaking pipes, weak actuators, dodge pot mafs ect... which we can sort out during the mapping session

During the r-tech remap session you will have your car tested on the rolling road and have everything checked... fue,l timing, boost and actuators ect.  During the mapping session we can adjust the map to match the cars hardware and we can set the actuators to gain the very best performance.

Its the extra 1.5hrs we spend on customer cars which makes the biggest difference,  the rolling road is used as a "tool" not just for fancy power graphs...

To be honest, from most of the responses I've read on here it seems that R-Tech are a very trusted company for mapping.

I've never used either R Tech or Revo but in my experience if you are able to trust who is working on your car then you'll be more comfortable.

It could be a bit expensive on fuel... but I'd consider it worth it if you feel happier about R Tech working on your car.
