Title: G60 Golf Engine Issue

Hi All I'm New Here!  :smiley:

I have recently finshed doing a G60 Engine Conversion into my MK2. There is a issue which I have currently got it's that whilst the car is under load it seems to Accelerate as it should very quickly from 1,000RPM All the way to 3,500-4,000RPM However once it gets to 4K it seem to not want go anymore than that and splutters and pops struggling to get above. This does happen in the most of the gears and also whilst on full acceleration it seems to let out a fair bit of smoke from the Exhaust...Maybe it's overfueling??

Before this incident in the donor car it drove absolutley brillant pulled very strong right through the Rev range only now this issue has occured. Any advice would be appreciated!

is it makeing misfireing type noises ?

Triple check everything is plugged back in properly. Sounds like fuelling/airflow. Check the maf, and all sensors. Something may not have liked being disturbed.

I'd say so when your at 4K with you foot down it does make a misfire sound with a fair bit of popping and banging from the exhaust.

Yeah I'm going to take another look at everything tomorrow to ensure nothing has been Knocked out of place or moved. I'm pretty sure it's got somthing to do with the Fueling/Airflow aswell beacuse it mostly seems to happen when i'm on full throtlle.

msfire developing under boost  screams and shouts ignition system as well.  weack coil, cracked dizzy cap or damaged HT lead all worth checking for

Sounds like it needs tuning correctly, my g60 ran okish up to 4k and then struggled. Had it tuned- dizzy advanced, co pot adjusted etc etc and now it pulls very well all the way through rev range.

Sorry for the really late reply  :nerd:

Just to update the reason why it was running like a piece of crap was because there was no vaccum hose connect from the ECU to the Engine.  :undecided:
Also a week later the hose from the Charger Decided to tear so it pissed oil everywhere, ended up changing it with my old Samco hose and it now runs like a G60 Should.  :cool:
