Title: What to look out for when buying a MK2 GTI
Post by: sundaydriver on 18 January 2011, 17:19
Going to have a look at a 1991 Golf GTI tomorrow, 150,000 miles, full service history, 5 door, red, good MOT and tax

Spoke to the bloke today and said it has the following faults;

1. Central locking doesnt work
2. paintwork on passenger side faded (said its because he parks it with the passenger side facing the sun!)
3. tiny bits of rust on a few area's

Other than that he said it's mint.
Anyone recommend what i need to look out for, any common problems etc.

Usual old car problems really. The sloppy gear change is a common one.
