ok ive got a pc5-90 as sugested before but i still am receiving rubish signal on my radio. anyone able to help. the radio in question is boss bv9150.
i have no idea what it is, on fm i can only pick up 2 stations were as before i could pick up loads

i take it you have connected the blue wire on the aerial adapter to the remote out from the h/u?

yep will try have a quick play around tomorow see if i can get a better conection between then but the conection looks good enough as it is. will see if that helps

Someone on another forum said that when the pc5-90 is fitted its possible I blew the antenna amplifier? Anyone know how to test?

no real way to test those...they can b a lil tempramental.mayb pop it into ur local audio shop n see if they can kindly test one of theirs against the one you have for any fault or error. have it all fetched out redy to test..to save em faffin about with removal...i no these audio places can b a bit funi if you dont otherwise have an intension to buy nethin..lol.
Maybe see if you can test another head unit all together...to elliminate the fault lyin with the car aerial or your boss radio!?

Only other radio I can test isthe standard gamma one as I cut my iso plug to attatch onto the wiring for the new radio. If the gamma units got crap signal chances are amp? Would go to a local audio shop and try borow one of there's but the only place near me that does audio (that I know) is halfords and I don't think they sell them (or not that I can find)
Will give my gamma radio a go tonight. Didn't think about that :D

u cut ur ISO plugs off from the car side? thus leavin you with open ended wires? Oh dear...i certainly wouldnt have done that. it causes a faff when puttin other radios in or performing tests like u want to now. If its because the radio you have came with a loom with open ended wires not compatible wih str8 plug in, you should have repaired that with a female block to do so rather than cutting off the oem wiring loom off the car.
The aerial booster cable you have purchased is very much on the shelf at halfords...theyr usually £14.99 from their..(confession.......i work there...lol)
You will probably find that the original radio's signal will be better anyway. The booster is only otherwise recommended when aftermarket radios are installed because the signal level with aftermarket radios arent strong enuf with the VW's and Audi's n nethin else within the group of motors. Many have been ok without em of course...however, yours is one of the ones that otherwise requires a means of signal boosting.
now IF you managed to temporarily test ANOTHER aftermarket radio besides your current one in their against radio signal and find it is ok with that one....then it will be that the TUNER built into your new radio that your intending to install is knackered or faulty or generally poor craftsmenship.
