Title: steering rack

are the steering racks on the mk3's all the same. need to replace the one on my vr6 and have seen a second hand one which has come of a mk3 16v gti. will this fit on my vr?

I believe they are all the same but from memory they used 2 makes, but should fit all ok.

theirs is 2 different types, do a search mate, its been covered as i need to do mine

apparently theres one with a larger spline which i have been told will fit both the 16v and vr6.

should also fit the 8v gti as well, but dont hold me to that  :wink:

yeah from memory i remember something like this, all gti ones are same anyhow, so this means the vr is same as gti

how much u paying ? is it the one on the bay ?

yeah theres a few on ebay, will be getting it from there. think its £40 inc delivery

gti racks are different to base racks, in addition to the spline thing above. all will fit regardless, just make sure you get at least the lower half of the steering UJ.  if it doesnt have track rods on then get them to match the rack
