Title: golf gti 8v to 1.8 gl exhaust.

hey ya'll, im new to this and im buying a 1.8 gl on friday. will a 8v gti exhaust be the same fitment? hope you can help as ive got me eye on 1 on ebay!

i'm pretty sure it will but worse case, you have to buy a gti down pipe. also depends on wether its the full system or not. if its just a matter of joining 2 pipes then it can be done with shims etc, your local tyre exhaust place can do it for you.

The end of the down pipe on a 1.8 carb model is the same diameter as the 8v GTI system.  A good mod for 1.6 carb engines is to fit the 1.8 downpipe & GTI system :)

Yup, so you can fit a GTI system from the middle box back .
It would be better to get a GTI manifold & downpipe while you're there, cos then you can bin the rubbish toilet bowl & 'C' clamp join :)
