Title: Axle inserts,i'm confused
Post by: gasketface on 16 January 2011, 18:55
Hi all.I saw these on ebay as i have done quite a few times but i'm a bit confused on how you use/fit them though  :undecided:

This is the item :- http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/vw-mk-3-golf-rear-axle-inserts-/370475839266?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item564214af22

Looking at stanard replacement bushes for the rear beam axle i can see that they are a cylindrical shape with what looks to be an inner and outer steel tube ???.I'm taking it that the above items are a replacement for the original one's but they seem incomplete to me ?.
Hope someone can explain this to a numpty !.Thanks.

these supposedly fit all models! and they push into the existing bush (I think you drill 3 holes in the current bush and press them in?)

I wouldn't bother, do it nice or do it twice.

Just fit poly's and be done with it :)
