Title: 3 questions

1) my alarm started going off last night a few times, in the end i just turned it off and locked the car, anyone know what it could be? didnt go off streight away, normally atleast half a hour inbtween locking and going off or more.

2)is ther codes in vagcom for this type of thing? never used it before so dont know if it only shows engine faults ect.

3) if the answer to above is yes, anyone know a link to a relativly cheep but still good code reader? or somewere you can get vagcom from for cheep. :)

1) Faulty micro switch in door module or washer leak into boot catch?  Car then thinks door/boot has been opened

2) I'm pretty sure error codes are stored indicating why the alarm went off recently

3) Get a cable off ebay etc, then try sweet talk someone on here for a copy of VAGCOM

If all else fails, try inhibiting the alarm with the switch at the bottom of pillar behind driver's seat, until you can get it scanned

As said - and does your washer jet move with the wiper arm?

nope, went off at one point with me stood at the door so noone tried to steal it.


and yes could be the boot. been meaning to sort the boot out for ages, weird though cause havent tried to use the rear washer for ages so bit random that its only just started happening, but supose its a reason to get the rear washer sorted once and for all.

weird how all day it hasent gone off either.
