Post by: Wazzzer on 16 January 2011, 08:22
Think I'd better turn the actuator down a bit lol

Good fun though!

Now we're talking, did you manage to get it without removing the turbo?

Kinda, I removed the manifold which meant dropping the turbo down off the support bracket to gain access to one of the nuts but nothing like the hassle of originally fitting the turbo itself.

Is it just a matter of popping back to R-Tech and having it all set up properly now?

Least its snapping the wastegate shut and holding well. Nick said when i looked at checking mine to undeo both nuts on the actuator, push the wastegate arm up the actuator rod, hold it and bring the bottom nut upto the arm and then give another 1-2 full turns, then bring down the top nut to lock in place.

bring on the boost..      But turn it down to a 21psi peak for now if the spring wont let you then you could always put an MBC in like to cap the boost until your next visit.

Will do Nick, that was just the result of pure guesswork from  the pic Hulmie so not too bad. MBC hey? Thought I'd seen the last of them with my Escort

Is it worth getting some load/N75/MAF logs once I've turned it down?

Patch - yeah I will be popping up in the summer just for piece of mind, feels very strong finally though. Got a rolling road day at JKM at the start of the month so will see how it delivers the power on paper. A nice strong curve will do me

:embarassed: i just been naughty... my stage one k03 map is clipping the k03s boost via the n75 so took it for a (very short but fun) spin with the actuator disconnected. managed to hold 20psi.
was very worrying but fun should i say the least.
wont be doing that again, just gotta get booked in now.
