Title: TDI exhaust question.
Post by: Snoopy on 15 January 2011, 22:17
Anyone know the pipe diameter and size/fixings of the mk6 2009 2.0 TDI 110 SE exhaust and if its the same from the cat back as the petrol GTI one or if the GTI exhaust back box will fit on the TDI centre pipe?

Not much help but on the MK4 all the systems from the cat back were the same 2.25 inch diameter for both the petrols and diesels

I would have thought VW would keep it the same  :undecided:

It's certainly the case with mk5 Golfs and SEAT Leon mk2s too, the exhaust parts are directly interchangeable between the TFSI/TSI and TDI models.
I looked into getting a GTI back box on my mk5 Golf GT TDI before the 170s came along with the twin pipes. It would have been a direct fit and is a conversion many people have done since.

Is the exhaust on the GTD near enough the same as the MK5 GTi ? they were twin pipe ? before they split left/right. Looks like most of the range now has twin exhausts...

I believe the GTI rear box fits a TDI TDI Makeover (http://www.myturbodiesel.com/forum/f9/tdi-makeover-4946/)
