Over night I seem to have developed a misfire. It is on hesitational on full throttle. As soon as you plant the throttle it will miss and shake then clear itself and pull as normal. If you feather the power in it's fine. Also once it's warm it won't idle and it cuts out. Anyone experienced this?

What engine?
-
2.0 8v from a mk3 with a 1.8 head.

Nobody had this problem? I don't want to start spending money in wrong places. Otherwise it could be a never ending expense. I've done a search and it could be anything.

Could be the timing is out? If you have a timing light, check it out. Should be 6 deg before TDC at 2000-2500rpm. See the digi tuning guide in the maintinance section. Unless someone knowledgeable has any ideas?

do the obvious first, new plugs, leads cap and arm. could be anything really, something you need to go out and check for yourself ;)

Trouble is I've had the timing played with and set up on the vernier also the afm has been altered. So it's not just a case of checking the standard timing.

Checking the pulley may be a good place to start, could have slipped/come loose... Similarly the distributor.

Sorted!! Broken wire going to the coil. I came how from work and had no spark on any leads.
