Not mk6 but will give you guys a good idea of what that £180 option will look like.

I imagine a retrofit would entail a whole not cluster - meaning far more than £180 of display?

If anyone can think of a more pointless way of wasting £180 then please let me know!!!!!

£300 plus for the cluster and potentially a new Central Electrics Module  :nerd:

+1.
And even more pointlessly expensive if it is retro-fit.
.....Says he, who spent a fortune on winter tyres and wheels and is not going to use either this year.

It should std.

I ordered it as an extra just because any display should be the best it can be.

No sign of my new car yet, I ordered Nov, and by the time I get it no doubt HUD will be an option

No offence Snoop, but as a mod maybe you should confine this one to the bin...........

At least this is relevant to the Golf.
More than can be said about star signs. No wonder the forum has been a lot quieter.
Downhill rapid.

Agree it should be standard but why would anyone NOT want that!? I'd pay up for sure if I was speccing from new. Looks so much nicer than the standard one, but then I guess I do love gadgets..

It looks cheap in my opinion compared to the normal display. My mate's got it in his A6 and it doesn't move me one iota. Utterly, utterly pointless.

And to put it in context £180 is one third of a remap to 250 hp, one third of what Darren charges for an RNS, more than one half of what Darren charges for a Bluetooth system.

Need I go on?

Yes please more examples

Na fair play - not seen in it the flesh, but I think it looks good from those vidoes..

Well done Snoopy for posting this up.
Satifies a curiousity a lot of us had as to what it would actually look like
It actually looks a lot better than I imagined it would, but I can only think it would be £180 well spent if you specced the nav unit to make the most of it.
Would I spec it myself? Dunno. But there doesn't seem to be any shortage of people willing to spend £30k on a Golf so £180 is a drop in the ocean really.

Which is why the cars are so damned expensive in the first place - cos VW know there's a load of mugs prepared to pay over the odds for them.
And yes, I know I'm one of them!!!!!

I notice the outside temperature is displayed on each of the screens. It doesn't do that on my "old" black and white MFD. Is there a setting in the setup that I've missed?

Mmm.........I'm going to have to investigate further methinks! It shows on the pages showing oil temp, consumption etc, but not if I'm displaying the radio station or media player

I'm sure someone got the temp to show all the time where the KMH is by setting clocks to USA or something??

More useful here im my mind - I know your should have KMH but I think you'd get away with it ;-)

^^^ VCDS the instrument cluster to ROW, then turn off the alternate speed display in the MFD options.

Wacca Wacca Wacca Wacca

You can on your iPhone 4 that conveniently fits very nicely in the area occupied by the MFD

I'm not sold on this I really like the white on black, so much better than the old pink on red :-)

I priced this up with the help of hazzy dazy and basically your looking at £378 for the parts (plus an up front exchange fee of around £170, which is refunded once the old cluster is returned), and then some labour/coding charges.

They aren't 100% it will work with all cars due to a change with the immobilizer around 31/05/10, so as expected not a cheap mod.
