Title: Finally fixed my many isv problems!!

Hi Guys, Looks like i have finally fixed my severe idling problems! It was a list of components that had failed where as i was just looking for the 1  :shocked:

Firstly after loads of advice on here with numerous threads!! I bought a second hand isv which turned out to be worse than my original one  :shocked:

secondly I bought an isv control unit (second hand) and it made no difference so I was left with wondering whether that one was bad to or was it something else? So i changed back to my old one.

Third thing was to replace 2 of the 3 temp sensors on the side of the head ( temp gauge and isv control ) as the readouts were not as they should have been... 1000ohm at 20c ect.. This made little difference to the isv but felt sure my car ran a little better and it certainly did from cold.

Forth was to finally get round to buying another isv (second hand of course  :wink:) I put this on the car this morning and as explained in my other thread (link above) I no didn't need to blank off the isv air pipe which was a good start! I set the idle as to RJs' guide (Thanks RJ  :smiley:) and then connected the red connector and fired her up but all the car did was idle higher and hunt like mad, So after a few swearwords I was ready to give up thinking this was yet another faulty isv!!

Fith and final 'Trail' was to leave the new isv on and now replace my isv control unit with the second hand one i bought earlier, So i did that and fired her up again and YESSSS!! Sits at 1050, No hunting, and most importantly revs up clean and drops fast to a point then to a slow crawl back to 1050 just as it should do  :smiley:

Thanks to everyone on here for the advice over the last few months you certainly saved me a few quid on garage costs  :wink: And to anyone with the same or similar symptoms remember to check and recheck everything!!
