Hi guys,
I have an 8v G60 and am looking at having the headgasket and timing belt replaced.
The car has a stage 4 Charger with a smaller pulley, TSR 4 branch etc. no major mods but i wanted to know if a new standard headgasket will suffice and if so where would be the best place to purchase the parts from.
Thanks
Alex

Standard headgasket will be fine, get rubber over cork though. As to where to get it from, GFS, Motorfactors, VAG dealer?

Thank you matey

Rubber or cork headgasket?? Personally I'd use a standard mls (multi layer steel) headgasket  or by a Cometic one if you fancy an upgrade.

Hey mate, i am a bit concerned because there was a lot of sh*t in the catch tank, it was a mix of fuel and oil and milky in colour.
Ive got a mate that will do head gasket and timing belt for £150 so am quite keen to just get it done.
Not sure if i told you but the car was tuned by Storm Developments last month and it is rapid now, spinning up in third!
Ill get some pics over to you as its looking very clean inside and out.

there will be a little mayo-type stuff in the catch tank, its the condensation. but shouldnt be fuel? if its running so well not sure theres a head gasket issue? But i never did take the head off.
Glad your sorting it out. i might do another i miss not having a mk2

Its definitly a fuel mix in the catch tank, its running very well but will need doing at some point in the spring/summer.
Yea get another mk2 and get another project thread up.
I keep meaning to upload pics and reports but havnt got round to doing it properly yet. :undecided:
