Title: rev but no go

have picked up my mk2 16v, and it drives fine, but when you accelorate 'quickly' the revs go up but the car doesn't pull. if driven steady the car pulls as normal. any ideas or info?

Sounds like the clutch is slipping.

no need for a hill.. 5th gear foot flat down at 30mph if revs rise its the clutch.. if the speed increases in time with revs then clutch is fine..

thanks for the advice everyone. the revs did/do climb when foot down in fifth, so guessing its the clutch......poo :cry:

Find a local VW specialist to do it. Places like Mr Clutch will bend you over and do a sh!te job.

Yep clutch is slipping, try adjusting it first..

cheers again for advice, there are a couple of vw specialists in gloucester... oh well, something to look at over the weekend
