Right well bought this car about 6 weeks ago now and have decided that i want to throw some money at it, so decided to do my uni project on it as i am studying motorsport engineering in my last year. I am seeing how much power can be extracted from a tdi engine so here goes
(http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc41/davies1644/vento1.jpg)
Then got a set of 288mm
(http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc41/davies1644/IMG_0059.jpg)
The did the boot lifter mod
(http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc41/davies1644/IMG_0090.jpg)
Then stripped a set of injectors to fit bigger nozzles
(http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc41/davies1644/IMG_0104.jpg)
Which have then turned out to be too small for the power i am aiming for so am going to have to do it again
(http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc41/davies1644/IMG_0081.jpg)
Fitted a set of xenon rear lights
The fitted a vr6 clutch which yet again isnt gonna be good enough so thatll be another fun time lol
(http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc41/davies1644/IMG_0127.jpg)
Test fitted new seats but the drivers is sat too high so will have to remove the height adjuster frame
(http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc41/davies1644/IMG_0134.jpg)
New steering wheel versus old one fitted the lupo gti
(http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc41/davies1644/IMG_0148.jpg)
Front mount intercooler fitting
(http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc41/davies1644/IMG_0124.jpg)
And then big mouthed the front bumper as well just for the hell of it really

Nice to see another new ride on here.... Good luck with the aims but it seems you're doing a great job so far... car looks good in white at night... very clean... Like it. :afro:
-
Looks like a nice car, good work! I thought VR clutches were good for 250bhp  keep it up dude.
Dan

Stick a piccy of the fuel system up when / if you get a chance bud.
-
Excellent progress so far, looking forward to the updates.
-
I think it will be more the torque from the diesel than the power its putting out that will make a vr possibly slip. Good work anyway lad!
-
Caistor deserves a gold star lol torque kills the vr clutch and whatdo you want to see on the fuel system? Going to pick up the new turbo and side mount manifold inlet and other bits next week
-
Just interested to see what pump type it's running.
-
most excellent thread - and good look with the rest of your plans :afro:
-
good luck with this i like what your doing with it and modding a car for a uni project gotta love that... keep up the good work
-
nice proper project! that fmic looks looooow though!
-
Yeah it is well it's the standard tdi pump which has been made into a hybrid by diesel bob still waiting for it to come back but it has a 12mm head in the pump and turns the car to mechanical as it's easier to tune up
-
nice proper project! that fmic looks looooow though!
+1, i'd be scared of destroying it running it that low
Looks like a great project though, good luck with it and keep the updates coming :afro:

And some vr6 leather door cards
(http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc41/davies1644/2d933a79.jpg)
Then fitted a vibe set of speakers which i bought for a bargain price of £4!! from halfords as they where screwed and i had to solder wire onto the speaker parts udner the speaker lol
(http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc41/davies1644/32235051.jpg)
Also while i was their realised one wasnt working so pulled the headunit out and it wasnt pretty! chocolate blocks everywhere so decided to get the heat shrink out and solder everything properly

Yeah thought they were, really like them and they are a nice when sat in them, hold you in nicely. They are rare however i do have a friend who is selling a rover 620ti with the same interior and is now thinking of breaking it as didnt get the price he wanted on ebay. So if anyone likes the seats for their car then pm me.

In febs golf plus there is a small talk about the 1.9 PD TDI lump saying that with Nitro, uprated turbo, intercooler and injection system and they have hit 250bhp on the dot. Not sure how this relates to your lump though?
-
very cool. lots of potential
-
PD diesels were put in the mk4s, I think these are engine code AAZ
-

close but no cigar lol aaz is the mechanical pump engine and mines a 1z your thinking about the ahu thats a tdi wish i had that engine as rods and pistons are stronger lol
-
Nice car,
look forward to seeing the progress !

Nice, I wanted to chuck an AAZ in my MK2 GTD and crank up the fuel pump...

That is freaky lol let me get it done so it actually looks somewhere near yours and we will do it lol got more updates just need to put the pics up
-
Good works so far mate really like ventos did see this for sale it caught my eye then  I did ask my friend with the wheels he is still just waiting on a guy about a p/x on some d90s but if it falls through he said the price would be somewhere around the £500 mark
-
I can't believe the demand for vento's recently. I sold mine a few years ago, 2.0 GL decked on coilies, white estorils, full exhaust, storm grey with TnT, 130k odd for £800! Now I could get nearly double that!
-
i bought mine for £900 not long ago lol got an update now
car with dodgy blue dash board so started pulling it out
(http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc41/davies1644/IMG_0167.jpg)
Dash out
(http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc41/davies1644/IMG_0168.jpg)
Wiring central locking and remote engine start all works except only problem is key has to be in the 1st position in the switch for it to work properly all because i cant find a 12v positive when the engine starts lol
(http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc41/davies1644/IMG_0169.jpg)
new black carpet going in
(http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc41/davies1644/5b42df3d.jpg)
Heated seat loom ( dont know if you can see it) hidden nicely all under carpet and wont be seen when you get in, as mounting the switch on the seat base plastic
(http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc41/davies1644/IMG_0173.jpg)
got bored and fitted some aero wipers
(http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc41/davies1644/IMG_0177.jpg)
The put most the dash back in but realised when i went to the tip i threw some of panels away i needed doh!
