im using the 02A gearbox ( mk3 2.0L 16v box ) im goin to be purchasing a peloquin diff
as im spending out on the LSD im wanting to upgrade a few parts I.E clutch and fly wheel
does anyone know if the vr6 clutch will fit and the g60 flywheel
im not a mechanic so please go easy on me :)

VR6 Clutch Kit. LUK one is around £118 from EuroCarParts.
And a G60 flywheel. Same as the ones found on the 2.0 16v engines. If you have a crappy one I think VW give you £20 or so off a new one. Works out to be £100 for a new. Might have changed now though as that was well over a year ago now.

sp basicaly they do fit :)

Yep :)
I got them in my Mk3. I have a Sachs clutch not a LUK one but reading people's review's on them both, I'd say they are equally good, so which ever is cheapest for you I guess.
Its a common upgrade on the Mk4 too:

Yes a popular upgrade on the 1.8t I will be doing this when my clutch dies..

Get somewhere to turn down the flywheel to 6kg and balance it - will make the engine rev much snappier. You don't need a 9-10kg flywheel on a dinky little Golf1.

Still better than the dual-mass bad boy! How much does that weigh compared to the G60 flywheel?

*slap*
The lightened single-mass is the best flywheel for this application.
No idea how much the dual-mass weighs. Are you weighing it before or after it's fallen apart?!
-
beat you to it ;) already booked my flywheel in to be lightend
LSD is on order as of next month :D then the gear box and engine will go back together and go in
QUESTION
having my flywheel lightend will this make it a pain in the arse for traffic hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Not if the engine's properly managed. It should be fine.
-
well im gettin a q-peng stand alone managment system if this is what your on a bout and i will be having it put on a rolling road and all set up running propperly
-
Oh well, never mind.

*slap* "BiAtCh!"
Well me and this guy best not have a lightened flywheel :D :D :D :D :D
I did think about getting mine done before, but CBA with waiting as I wanted the damn engine in. Even if you don't lighten it, its still better than the dual-mass.

qpeng is not in my view proper managment it removes too many safety features plus you lose diagnostic's.
But it is your choice.

I got same flywheel turned down to 6kg on AGU and no problems here. Is on mk4 though

imo best to use the stock ecu as long as it's still sutable ( esp as it's very easaly tuned ) unless your going to use dogs bollox aftermarket the stock ecu is very capable and has nice safty fetures
