Can anyone advise me I have a 51 plate gt tdi. Recently on the drivers door, about 50% of time when i try and close the door the catch is still up on the lock position stopping the door from shutting. I can release it by holding open the handle on the inside and then poking it back down with my finger so it closes. Doesnt do it all the time but its flippin annoying when it does!
Any ideas.. am I going to need a whole new lock? Iver tried wd40.. waste of time.
Thanks in advance :-)

It sounds like your striker plate may have come loose, and is catching on the locking mechanism as you shut the door, flicking the "pawl" into the locked position...
Your striker plate is the shiny plate that is attached to the pillar, If I recall correctly, it is held on with 2x torx screws, check the plate to see if its worked loose, put the plate back to its original position, and retighten screws...
