ok so i decided to go on a road trip and took my mk2..
we drove south for new years to hit up Las Vegas and the thing is WE MADE IT haha
also made it back home with only a flat to show from the trip.. well when i got home bought a new tire
and went on with my life. well now my car is starting to show problems. when
i go a while without driving it when i try to start it the car wont make a noise. the lights
come on like normal but the actual car makes no sound what-so-ever. but then when i
push start the car it will fire up and work normally for a while. but then randomly for no
reason it will go back to not making a noise when i turn it over (mostly from letting it sit
overnight). any ideas on what could be going on???
*on a side not when we left nevada we stopped at the gas station. i had a coffee sitting on my dash.
when i lifted the seat forward it knocked it over and some coffee spilled in my top vents. the car then went into the "make jons life hell and not start mode." well we tried to push start it and everytime we tried it was making noise like it wanted to start (which was a godsend given it wouldnt even make a noise before)but it wouldnt start. we sat there for 5mins and my friend randomly tried starting it and no problems from then on....... until i got home that is.*
I wanna take it to the shop to get the problem fixed but i dont wanna go in there and say hey my car wont start sometimes so go ahead and find anything wrong with my car and ripp me off. ha id rather go in there with at least a little base information on whats goin on because im all out of ideas... thanks mates. :rolleyes:

Sounds like your starter motor has packed in merty. And as for the coffie, if everything still works blower wise i wouldnt worry

worked that kinda confusing for my simplified mind haha
that mean i need a new starter cuz mines gone to hell? :grin:

would you suggest i buy the item new and NOT used, or does it really matter when it comes to the starter?

I would buy it reconditioned, BUT before you do that, check all of the wiring back from the started itself. You can also hit the starter with a hammer somtimes and it will free up, if it does free up you are about due a new one anyway.
