hi Ive got a set of r32 skirts what would be the best way to fit them something that is removable that will not damage the paint if i decide to remove them in the future
-
Any kind of mastic bonding agent will do (i.e something that doesnt set hard, but remains rubbery), something like sikaflex. Carefully cheesewire then rub down with some thinners to remove them if you need to.
-
sorry whats chessewire and what would i have to rub down and use thinners for the paint on the car if so wouldnt this damage the paint sorry if i sound a bit thick
-
give the sills a good clean and wipedown with panel wipe (washingup liquid + water at a push) to get rid of any grease/wax before you stick the skirts on.
the cheesewire is for when you want to take them off again, its like serrated wire with a handle at each end that bodyworkers use to remove trim, then the thinners would get rid of any residue from the bonding agent that's left.

ok i get it now so no paint will get damaged in the process (sorry i just love my car dont want to damage it) would something like black silicone work i think ive got some in da garage or would that not stick well coz i dont want them flying off down the motoway haha. somebody said i would have to rough up the paint to stick the skirts on becsause they wouldnt stick to smooth paint thought it was rubbish
