Title: The bracket in the boot..
Post by: Christo77 on 09 January 2011, 07:44
Just wondering what or if some of you guys have made use of the bracket in the boot?
It may have held a warning triangle and first aid kit from the factory i don't know..
Might like to make use of it for it's intended purpose if anything fits..just trying to keep the ole gal in standard spec, still got the original stereo in there, it's crap! but original

Luckily, mine has the original tools and triangle still fitted in bracket
Failing anything, just remove bracket etc, and give a bit more boot space?

Hm no don't want to remove it, want to keep it there and make use of it in some way..apart from a shopping bag hook thing!

Lol Dom you smug bugger!
Have a browse around for a second hand safety kit or something?
Although my vote is to remove it and make it look clean and tidy!

Mine holds a spare can of oil. Never actually had cause to use it so far with the Golf but old habits die hard!

Nice idea how's that attached mate

I had some 10mmx10mm chrome box section, cut a 45deg section out of it and folded it up to make an l shape bracket, then bolted them to the floor, then braced it at the back using one of the mounting points for the triangle bracket.

Nice and solid and saves it being bolted to the sub box which i hate

I used the space and the screw holes to mount and secure a small (8") sub and amp
Just take the driver out to mount / remove

First pic just shows the rear panel of the sub, checking for fit.
