Title: Golf 1.4 ticking noise help!!!

I have a ticking noise coming front the belt area, any ideas what it is?? Got told might be my alternator ?? It ticks the same speed as the engine?? Thannks mitch :)

Does it tick at the same speed no matter what revs?

Could be cambelt tensioner or a tappet.

No mate, same speed as engine. I sprayed my aux tensioner wit wd40 and it stops until I go again so I have bought a aux tensioner hopefully it cures the problem!!
