Title: Bargain door sill protectors
Post by: evo1986 on 07 January 2011, 15:37
As you guys know I work for VW dealer, and have been offered some mk5 5 door steel door sills protectors very cheap from our parts dept. Just seeing if there is any interest out there for people wanting a set to fit to there cars. I only have 5 doors available and 3 sets. Of course genuine VW set which are quite an expensive additional but at £50 a set would make a fantastic addition to anyones car. Let me know via PM, email or reply on thread

Apologies if this is a bit of a thick question, but is it just the alu trim bit to go over the plastic trim or does it include the plastic trim?
It's very hard to see from the photo what it actually includes and I've done a quick google search of the part number which throws up all sorts of different photos. Some just show the aluminium bit, some seem to show the anti scuff rubbery stuff that goes onto the door jam area and some show something completely different!!! Good old google.

Due to the boss' instructions (yes, that means the wife) I am a 'sensible' 5 door owner of a Mk 6 GiT.
Do you have a link of where I can purchase these from, and are they for the Mk5 or Mk6?

Lockwood (http://www.lockwoodinternational.co.uk/4-door-c802.html) do sill covers for the GTI, GT and TDI. I asked them if they do them for the GTD they said no as there is no demand for them. Well they must be easy to make as they only need to use the GT and the D from TDI and stick them together.
