Title: Advice needed for Mk2 Novice!

Hi all,

2 months into happy motoring with my new Mk2 16v and there's a couple of little things I need some advice on if you can help:

Nearside inner spotlight fixings have come loose and I dont know exactly what part numbers or where to order replacements from to fix the spotlight back in... (its wobbling around at the mo looking very unhappy!)
Also - slightly concerned about a damp carpet appearing in drivers footwell. I fear leaks... as i know they're difficult to trace sometimes without ripping out interior...
Any suggestions for diagnostics?!

I got some spotlight fixings from this guy, they did the trick:

For your damp carpets, do a search in the mk2 section, and have a read at the common problem spots and solutions.

As above fr the spot light  :smiley: Have you checked you scuttle panel? Sometime the drain holes get bloked and then when it rains it doesnt drain and as such drains back into the car? Wheres abouts in the footwell is the patch, back, front or near the door area?
