Title: 16v gti driveshaft

Om the drivers side driveshaft does any1 no what the metal ring is for near the engine side? It is connected by rubber and has come off so its just lose on the shaft, is it some kind of weight? Guess i need a new drive shaft too :-( 1thing afta another lol

I think it may be a balancing weight / vibration damper.

Thats wot i thought, tried sticking it temporary with some sikaflex, or black sh!t lol il see what happens

It is a balancing / vibration weight, better to have it fitted.
