Title: Rear arch work.

Hi. Sorry if it's been asked a million times before, I've had a search but couldn't find anything.

All it is, has anybody done arch work to their mk2? What have you done and have you got any pics? I will be keeping the arch trim so I'll will be doing more than rolling the arches.

Thanks for the link, but what i want to do it remove the rear arch trim and cut the arch away rather than just "roll" the arches.

Not recommended as rear arch is made up of 3 skins with a welded seam on the arch. If you chop it you need to ensure that the skins are welded back together or rot will set in quite quickly....

Yeah thats the problem. Everybody who runs their car low with wide wheels tends to cut the rear arches away, but some bond them back together. Which is a strange one. I prefer the idea or spot welding them back together at least. But i have never actually seen what other have done

Just rolling will suffice for an 8" rim and slightly stretched rubber (195/45) depending on offset.

They will be on 195s. Et14 I think. Rolling the lip, does that just roll it back up into the arch?

If done properly the lip should be rolled back flat against the swage line in the arch.
