Title: mk3 gti 16v anniversary
Post by: Richie_C on 05 January 2011, 22:19
hiya heres a few pics of my new mk3. Its standard except for the lenso eagle 17in alloys and the exhaust which is a powerflow full stainless. The back box will be changed sometime this year to a twin exit similar to the standard also its been lowered but just on springs and struts again this will be changed for a set of coilovers. It came with loads of reciepts and also the original alloys aswell which werent in the best of condition so i quickly refurb them with some matt black just to use during this sh!tty weather to keep the salt off the lensos.

That is very very nice.

If you switch to coilovers you will need arch mods with 17"s, I would leave it as it is to be honest.

was thinking coilys just to raise it slightly cos where i live its pot hole city which iam sure is the same for everyone after this weather and the suspension thats been fitted is very stiff so i have to drive like a slarlome to miss the holes otherwise if i hit one its sends a massive thud through the car.

I know i mentioned it on the other post, but what does that rear badge say?

It looks like GTI 16V which would be standard.

I know that's the standard but when i had a closer look it doesn't look like 16v lol

Maybe it's just my eyes!  :undecided:

Must be your eyes but the 16v isn't that clear in the picture to be fair.

Um OK, it looks like 16v, even if it were more blurry my mind would still read it as 16v as it certainly doesnt look like the alternatives like VR6 etc.

Looks loads clearer than that in the original pictures and mine is on a netbook so would be even clearer on a laptop or desktop.

Nice discussion going off there but it does say "Gti 16v" there are no after market badges on it. Just stickers on rear windows either side saying abf inside.
