on sunday night my lights were working fine, then I come to leave work at 11pm on monday and I've got no headlights. just my sidelights were working. if I pulled back on the stalk to activate my main beams they flashed. As if the lights were only on 1 click, not 2. Today I replaced the light switch on the dash, but still no lights.
It's very frustrating cos I can't drive at night now >:(
any ideas?

It maybe the stalk itself?
That's just a guess, but if they flash, then sounds like the electrical connections are er......connecting, like not a blown fuse or anything, so I'd say the switch or stalk, the fact you've replace the switch leaves the stalk?
sounds odd that the stalk would just fail though?

turned out to be the connections on the key barrel on the igniction. Had a fiddle in there and cleaned it all out. works ok now :)

Thats one to remember for the future....

A good tip is to not have a heavy bunch of keys hanging down from the ignition as this will wear the internals as you go round bends and brake. Worn ignitions can cause havoc with the electrics and Its always worth giving it a good squirt with some WD40 with the straw to free things up.
