Title: Mark 2 Driver Cams
Post by: Neaty on 19 February 2005, 01:29
Hello All

I am after a cam for my Mark 2 driver (1600) and was wondering if i put a cam out of a mk2 gti 8valve would this make much difference or should i just buy a "taylor" made one for my engine. If so can anyone recommend anywhere who makes them for Drivers, if so then personal message me

cheers

Paul

Yes, a mk2 gti cam will fit and give you some more power. More can be had if you fit the exhaust manifold and down pipe.

I used a kent fast road cam with advanced ignition timing and a couple of carb mods to achieve a proven 106 bhp.

I have tried using the gti cam but it just wasn?t aggressive enough for me, although it was easier to drive under 3000 rpm.
