Spoke to my dealer about the Bluetooth module 3C8 035 730A and he says it is not available. What is the module that works with the iPhone4 (on the newer cars)? The car I am looking at getting has the older one, so I need to change it out.
Thanks.

mortygt140 (Darren) is the man to get the latest bluetooth Modules.

3C8 is available, but not easily from UK dealers.
I am fitting two of these at the weekend.
-
@SteveP: is this the newer one that works with the iPhone4 and uses the existing loom and antenna? Thanks.
-
Correct
(it's what I am running in my own car that was factor phone prepped)
-
Darren is sorting me one out, cos i just got an i phone 4 and it dosn't work with my factory prep,
He said that just the module under the drivers seat needs changing to the latest version

^^^ Plus you will need to run some extra wires or the A2DP will be mono as the original factory loom is not wired for right hand channels :nerd:

Cheers Steve, wonder if Darren knows this

He is aware but worth a reminder so he can prep the extra bit of cable
-
Darren should be fitting this for me next week but mine doesn't have the factory prep, would A2DP still be in mono?

Does this produce the same results as the VW version?

It does, but the latest OEM kits are better (IMHO) and cheaper

Just out of interest: Better, how, Steve?

Better integrated and better sound quality are the key things for me.

I would agree about the better integration being important.
Now, all I need is to hear from Darren to order the RNS510 and the Bluetooth! I have a VAGCOM on the way, so coding should be OK.
