Title: turbo rebuilds
Post by: houston on 04 January 2011, 16:02
has anyone ever attempted to rebuild there own turbo? was just wondering if the internals from a k04 could be transplanted into a k03? (not s)

is there any off the shelf kits? is it even possible? would just be good to have bigger power without the lag, sick of driving a slow car

thats basically what im asking, can i do it myself? got to be cheaper to buy k04 or k03s internals than a full turbo and i know the turbo will be rebuilt and safe

thought k04-001 was same housing as k03?

ah right, but id still be able to use k03s internals? and benefit from the lack of noise supression?

nope, k03s also has bigger compressor wheel..
though you could buy a k03s without a silencer..
