Title: Shell V-Power - big difference?
Post by: MrBounce on 03 January 2011, 22:17
Filled up today and due to the ridiculous queue at the service station I brimmed the tank with 45 litres of finest V-Power.

I've only driven back 5 miles mainly in heavy traffic (i.e under 30mph) so haven't had a chance to open it up at all. It did seem a little smoother than before. I remember the old Mk3 Boat improving when using V-Power petrol but does the V-Power diesel REALLY make much difference?

I didnt notice much difference at all really and with pump prices at £1.32 for Tesco basic i dont think ill even bother again
Suppose to be smoother and smoke less but tbh i wouldnt bother.

never really seen any gains in using it other than its 5p/litre more which is why I dont use it

Found mine used to smoke a lot less on the decent stuff, a little bit on the ordinary pump fuel and like a biatch on supermarket crud

It has higher calorific value so gives more power, your bum dyno will be hard pushed to notice 10-15bhp increase but its possible - also because v-power produces a better burn on a long run/cruise for the same constant speed less fuel will be used
