Hello, I've took off my throttle body today to clean it up,
cleaned it with thinners nicely, when Ive put it back and started, it was idling at about 2k rpm before it was 600rpm, then the revs go down to bout 1100 rpm. is that ok ?

Might take a while to reset itself, 1100 seems alittle high.

this is what happerned to me, idled between 2k and 1.1k i did a lot of looking into it but it cost me £320 eventually, try changing the temperature sensor its what worked for me as the thottle body automatically re-lines itself one the car is switched on, and does not need altering through vag com.
all i did was change temp sensor and ran some redex through the system that made it idle at diffrent amounts for a few days untill it flushed the whole petrol system, and now idles at 600 perfectly and starts brilliantly every time!

Will a temperature sensor come up on vag com or summat similiar ? I'll run it for a bit first and see if it will go back to 600rpm.If not then i'll change the sensor. Cheers for the reply anyway ;)

no thats what through me off finding what it was, it hasn't got a error code on vag com, but worth changing and then flushing the fuel system with redex just so you dont go like me spending 320 pound on a 14.40 part from europarts

is it a single point injector unit? looks like a carb? if so check the condition of the rubber mounting, had one go on a passat and a 1.4 golf recently.
-
its multi point injection,
i think ive got it sorted now, drove it for a bit and its idling at aroud 700 rpm
gotta change the fuel filter and run some cleaner through it cos i run out of petrol last week
cheers for all the advice ;)
