I have these speakers http://www.dynamicsounds.co.uk/alpine-sxe1350s-51413cm-component-2way-speaker-p-241.html and have them fitted and am pretty happy considering the cost etc, but i dont know what to do with these little speakers. They have 4 connections and am really stuck on what to connect them to. If anyone could help that would be great.

The tiny ones you are on about (i think) are the tweeters - they produce the high frequency notes in music.
As to where to place them depends on what car you have and if you want to fabricate anything for them or not
-
P884 POT is correct they are indeed tweeters, these need to be wired to a cross over so they get the right frequencys if you just wire them up to your speaker wire youll without a doubt blow them up... these should have come with cross overs if they were all bought together as Component speaker package... plus you should have instructions
-
They didnt come with instructions thats why im struggling. I was hoping someone on here had bought similar so they could help me out

Ok i will give it a go
Basic idea is to have the main speaker in the door where it should be, connected to the crossover.
The tweeter then needs to be roughly 30cm+ higher/away, also connected to the crossover.
The main speaker wire from the head unit will then need to be put into the crossover so that a signal is being passed through
Then you have a choice of either completly hiding the crossover or having it on show
Let me know what car it is going into and i will try and advise best placement

Thanks , its a mk2 golf mate, probably should have mentioned that early doors. Also whats a cross over?
-
Frequency blocker to put it simply.
Tweeters (the small ones) operate at high frequencies and Midrange and Bass at lower.
So in a set of component speakers comprised of tweets and a Mid/Bass speaker the crossover is used to seperate the frequencies from the source amp with the higher going to the tweeter and the lower going to the Mid/Bass.

What Len said!
With regards to where to mount the speakers check out the mk2 section
