OK its not for my car but my dad's. He needs new valves and has been told he's looking at £25 per wheel and I thought thats a bit expensive?
Im sure ive seen a price outside a small tyre fitting place saying new valves £5 per wheel or doe's that sound wrong?
Cheers guys

should only be a few quid, unless they have to strip the tiyer of first?
-
Have a word with a few of your local tyre places...valves should be under £10 each with removal and refitting the tyre (my local is about £8 inc balance or £5 without)
-
Yeah the tyre will need stripping first I think he'll be happy with prices of around the £10 mark or less after all he was expecting £25 per wheel for some reason.
Cheers for the replys guys

OMG...£25 per wheel is mental.
Kingsway tyre round the corner from me did mine for £2.50 a wheel
realisticly i would expect £5-£10 at the most
Have a hunt around if u can, strongly advise you not to pay that price
-
the tyres dont need stripping off the wheel, all they do is break the bead on the bead breaking machine (hydrolic arm) they then pull the valve out and put a new one in and pull it so it sits in place, this should take approx 1-2 mins per wheel its very simple and quick ! a valve is worth about £2. you should look to pay £5 each, most tyre shops will do all 4 for a £10 drink money - not going in the till
-
Is it the valve stem or the valve insert that needs replacing?
If it is the insert then that just screws out and the new one back in - should be no more than a few pence each :afro:
If it is the stem then you have to consider the price of the balancing and taking the wheel off etc, I know from ringing round the local places a few weeks back they were charging £10 to £18 for tyre fitting which is where they are going with a valve swap at a guess :undecided:
