Title: MK4 SUNROOF
Post by: jetskijimmy on 02 January 2011, 13:15
Hey anybody got/had same problem as mine ?

My sunroof will tilt up&down but wont slide open as the sliding visor wont slide freely preventing the sunroof to slide open.

Just interested if anyone has any feed back ie costs of repair or anything to watch out for.

Thanks

James

Sorry for dragging this old,old thread up but can anybody help me with some info.

The last owner of my car said the visor that slides with the sunroof jammed and he just ripped it out so the sunroof would work again.

But, i want to replace the visor.

So, will i just be able to get a visor from the breakers and fit it or is it a full head lining out job and full replacement sunroof assembly??

from what i can read in this tread buddy i dont think its a replaceable job ie whole new/ secondhad jobbie and to be fair buddy its not that hard to get the sunroof mechinism out if i remember rightly when i wanted to regrease/ clean my old sun roof gttdi you take off all the pillar moulds off then take off all handles and light then take out the head lining and then im sure the is only about 8 blolts holding it up.... may want a friend to take the weight so it comes out nicly :)
