Title: Any idea if a 8v starter motor will fit and work in a 16v engine. ?

Sorry if i have posted this in the wrong place ?

As you may know if you read the thread my gti 16v mk3 abf has toasted its starter motor, there are loads of 8v's breaking but i have yet to see a 16v. I think they are probably the same but I am unsure. Doers anyone know for sure ?  Thanks in advance for any advice.

They are defo different Mate....you need to find a 16v breaking.

cheers guys after checking some internet shops i thought they were different.
