That looks nice and tidy! Ive noticed a couple of pro mk3 posts from you lately
You thinking of swapping?!
-
Nice to see a genuine clean one at a realistic price for a change.
-
Performance figures: http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=121567.0
-
bloody hell! for the price thats really good, full service history and low mileage too!
get it
-
I dont think its the cheapest and if you keep looking around I think theres better deals around of private sellers.I did see a spotless mk3 16v anni on ED38 with less miles in silver for £1800 ono and it was a standard untouched car.
-
Thanks volks!
I'm looking for an earlier golf either mk1, mk2 or mk3 so that I can tinker a little.
I like the sound of the clean anni @ 1800 quid!!!
I'm pro any golf :-)
-
Ill see if I can find it on ED38 he couoldnt sell it tbh and said he was going to keep it till new year and try again.
Just seen this one if it what it says looks a cheap car for under half the price of the black one

Thats a bargain!!

If it was me, Id have the green one, its £1200 cheaper and has less miles! I know the other is an anni and will hold its value better over the coming years but thats not what buying a mk3 is about, you'd have to keep it a long time to make that £1200 back anyway!
-
Looking at the whole of that site now and found some other interesting bits and bobs - the green one isn't for me TBH - I like the black one due to the history and one owner thingy.
I'm thinking Anni now - can't help it - I also think I want A/C as I'm a pusser
The more I think about it the more a MK3 makes sense
-
I miss my air con

-
If I didnt have my 8v anni I would have been all over that anni it has a few minor bits to do on it but I does look a very clean car and its silver which isnt to common good history and a fellow dub owner I think he wouldnt move to much on the price but he didnt advertise it at a great time tbh.I understand on the green one which does look a bargain but greens not everyones cup of tea still good luck in finding one

You know it makes sense...16v Anniversary with A/C is the way forward...if you can find one.
The last of the cars you can really tinker with without needing laptops etc.
-
Lol have laptop - check my web :-)
That silver one seems good - I've registered and I'll pm him when the site let's me
Seem a nice vr6 in need of help over there too - may get 'em both - cheaper than some mk6 owners have spent on a set of winter wheels and tyres
-
I paid 900 for my 16v. Needed a damn good clean but that was it. Air con and full leather.145k but full service history too. No dents, very little body rust (just two small bits) but Tue underneath is had. I need new silly and new exhaust system. Cheap to do but still.

Why do you want an anchor?
Are you planning on going boating?
-

I meant it's around the last where wires actually turned things on without using controllers and things could be fixed with spanners, not by changing modules.
There is little scope to chip-tune the ABF...maybe 10 BHP at best.
But if you want old school mechanical tinkering, it's good fun.

I know what you meant regards laptop just playing with ya, going to make some inroads on that silver anni

+1 looks factory fresh, along with the nice wad of history with the car suggests it's been nicely treated
-
P155ed off
I keep trying to post / pm over there as I think I'll buy it but it says:
"Sorry, an error occurred. If you are unsure on how to use a feature, or don't know why you got this error message, try looking through the help files for more information.
[#103133] You do not have permission to reply to this topic."
Can anyone help please?
-
Just saw this bit :embarassed:
"Please contact me on: 07816 191351 or aidrianwalsh@live.co.uk"
Email sent and fingers crossed
-
The Anni looks really clean, lots of miles however.
-
It's 1800 quid though
Do you think I'd be better off with the first one I was interested in?
-
147k miles is nothing if it's got FSH and well taken care of.
-
Thats true, theyre good strong engines and should outlive the car if treated right! Go for the best one you can afford!

The Anni is the better car, have a real good look over it for any rust and make sure it is stone cold when you look at it, if it has been well looked after it should be ok.
-
Thanks for that

Personally Ive never been keen on buying cars off traders mainly because some not all tell pork pies  I would rather buy private or off a fellow dubber tbh and as said old vws golfs are good for the milage

I would avoid it to be honest, sounds like a major gearbox fault, unless you buying it to break.
-
Sounds like s :angry:ticking valves/clutches to me. New box jobbie.
-

True, I didn't really think about all the work that would have to go into it.
-
I've not heard from the 16v anni
Yes please e-mail the vr6
I'm happy to buy both but If I bought the vr6 I'd leave it auto as a funny tyre shredding smoker, good news is my mate owns a gear box repair centre so any work will be a love job
