Title: Winter Pack
Post by: branchespark on 31 December 2010, 08:57
Gutted. GTD I was about to buy does not have winter pack, even though bumper has cut outs for washers (and GTD literature shows bumper without).

Can the washers be retro-fitted? Heated seats will be a shame, as I'm hoping to re-trim in leather.

Might give up until 2011! ;-)

The washers are a pain in arse anyway , i dont like them but yes the heated seats are great to have . I dont think I would knock a car back because no winter pack though.

Well it will have either xenons ( you lucky lucky boy ) or winter pack if it has the cut outs.

Go take some photos mate of the air con and the front of the car then post them here - something doesn't add up - in a good way though.

Your trimmers / Morty140 from here should be able to sort the heated seats :-)

IMHO the headlamp washers are next to useless and I regard mine as a waste of washer fluid.

You have a PM by the way

Trimstar, as you will see from their website, fit front and rear heated seats. The seat heater controls are part of the two air con knobs. I don't know whether they just need software activation or you would need a new air con console or just knobs.

Personally, now that this you have discovered this, I would re-consider very carefully and possibly go for the March delivery.

I think the knobs are different as mine have blanks were the heater picture is on winter pack equipped cars.

You'll cope. We'll help you with our TLC.
Wait a bit longer for the car with the spec you want. After all you are going to keep it for nine years. I had a similar experience when ordering mine.

YNWA.

Thinking about it, I'm about to move to a house with a garage. I actually never really use the seats in the current Golf, but am used to them when I need them.

All comes down to the price, availability, spec and the "oh, what the hell!"

Btw, does the "standard" Golf really not have a low washer warning?!

The chances are that the heating mat is already in the Golf seats just not connected.

So all you need to do is connect them up and get the heated seat knob's and your away?

According to Kufatec  (http://www.kufatec.de/shop/product_info.php/language/en/info/p1355_c325_Seat-Heating---Harness---VW-Golf-VI-6.html)yes but I haven't seen or heard anyone doing it.

Maybe Morty could comment if its a simple as that. As I'd definitely be interested if it could be done.

The ones without heated seat controls just have a blank black cover there with no pic or lights im guessing its prb a different panel but im sure Monty or Steve will know either way.
