I have a 12" sub in a box which sounds like it really needs a port. What size port do i need?
-
not as simple as that
need to know what sub and what size box you have and also where you want the sub to peak frequency wise
also not all subs are happy being in ported boxes
-
Its a kenwood 1200 watt. Not sure on the box size and dont really know bout the frequency. I listen to drum and bass and dance music but this thing just picks up the wrong bass and is low no matter where i set the amp. I have heard 12 inch subs in ported box s before and i like the sound and feeling so dont really want to go back to a 10"
-
i need to know the exact sub model
you may need to take it out of its box to get the number off it
-
whoa this has been a while.
its a kfcw3011 12 inch sub jsut taken it all out because despite the wattage and size of the thing its just rubbish sounding and i have put my good old 10 inch back in for now.
Do you still need box dimesions?
-
did you buy the sub and box together or seperate and was it new or old?
if you bought it new, the shop really should of matched them up correctly
-
got the whole lot as a package online new.
It came with amp sub and box. Box is tiny though.
-
What puzzles me is how you can swap from a 12" to a 10" in the same box?
-
Magic you see.
I allready had the 10 inch kenwood in a proper kenwood box which ended up in the wifes car. Had it 10 years and its still great.
