Has anyone else noticed that the entire outer sides on the spacers (is this the correct term, its the bit where each wheel is bolted into the car, in front of the discs...?) ?
I know these things tend to rust a little, but all 4 are rusted all over the outer edges

Know issue. The mk5's suffer it too. Im sure theres are quite a few posts about wheel hub painting floating about. I did mine with high temp paint.

It's part of the break disc mate, mine are fine but my brothers scirocco's are terrible, he took it back to the dealer but they said there was no "fault" so not covered by warranty??? I told him to go back and spit his dummy out at them! He hasn't

Thanks all, I didn't think it was a serious issue as I have seen it on other/previous vehicles, but was just alarmed that the surface rust was on the entire edge of all 4.

^I think it's a bit more hit and miss than that mate i had a mk5 for 3 years before my current car and that didn't suffer from it at all.

May have had a protective coating on the disc. Not uncommon.
Unless it has discs from different materials.
I wouldn't worry.
You could try painting as I said, black or silver but I doubt it will last that long with the heat.

Just went to have a look. None on mine.

Still nowt wrong with it, age obviously plays its part but some rust fast.

Exactly its normal but you could not tell the mk5 boys at the time
PS I know they are brake discs the only reason i said search for hubs is thats what the mk5 boys called them with there posts back then
