Be warned - noob here.
I am and have always been in love with Mk1 & Mk2 Golfs, and I've finally reached the point in my life where it's time to buy one. I've looked around on tinternet and this is about the only forum I can find specifically for Golfies.
SO HERES MY QUESTION..
I was wondering from which year onward (if at all) did Volkswagen install drivers airbags in Mk2's? I've been shopping around for a tidy Mk2 Golf - NON GTI (insurance reasons :() and I'm starting to question if it's not until the real later years (my guess is 1992/3..?) that drivers airbags started. If it really is non-existant in Mk2 days, what about Mk3?
Any information on Mk1's, 2's, 3's and even 4's airbag situation is MUCHLY appriciated :)

Mk2's were the last of the "drivers" cars.
They put the airbags in the Mk3 > for pussy's.

Became standard issue in the Mark 3 as they are much better cars and quicker than Mark 2's so tended to be needed more !!!!!! (Watch the Mark 2ers come ut in force now)
Mark 2's are nice motors but Mark 3 is a much more practical everyday motor. I would like a Mark 2 for a weekend toy.
