Title: New (used) Car
Post by: Jimmymature on 24 December 2010, 17:46
Hi all, thanks for all the advice over the last few weeks on the GTI.  Bought a used one last week and picked it up today!

Love it, my two year old A3 seems dated already.

Cheers.

Jim

Congratulations, and I'm sure hoping Jim will fix it, with pictures!

Yes, the A3 is so dated. Should have died some years back.

Hello again and welcome to the clan.

Did you buy a MK6 or an ED30?

I bought a MK6, I took an ED30 out and was very disappointed with the interior quality after taking a MK6 out the week before.

I really am enjoying GTI and can't wait for dry weather to push it a bit more

Pics tomorrow

That's a very good looking car with a great spec, well done

Your right about the build quality, we have a lot of mk5's in work and the mk6 build is just that little better in most ways.

Not that I'm knocking mk5's

It is supposed to be very clever in 'normal' mode and keeps adjusting itself. Well its still no good for me as it's still too bouncy. So I drive Wolfgang in 'comfort' mode.
18" and Bridgestones are not a match made in heaven especially on our shoddy roads.

I don't know how clever it really is in standard mode - I'm going to pull the fuse and find out

No mate, IMHO it will either do nothing or go super limp - I think it will feel like standard ride.

If i had done the programming and design i would get it to default to sport mode if power is lost but it depends how good the design engineer who designed it was
