Title: new quotation query
Post by: ShoozY on 21 December 2010, 21:09
hi, was speaking to a friend about hic, said he was told that the vehicle that is to be insurd must have been ownd for atleast a year. Is this true? I think that i have read something somewere that said the driver must have held a licence for a year, possibly 2 and the vehicle to be insured must be familiar to the driver over a minimum period of 1year. Is this true?  over the past couple of months i have been geting estimations for a number of vehicles i was posibly lookin to purchase and was never made aware of this. I am nineteen with 1y ncb and have just baught a mk4 golf 1.4s ,only mods are alloys, tints and has been dee-lockd. Can any1 shed a bit of light on the matter or offer any advice as im yet to insure this car. Thanx

On certain cars, depending on your age and driving experience there may be requirements to have owned the car (or something similar) for a certain length of time or been driving for a certain length of time - for example if you have just passed your test then you may struggle if you want to jump straight into a GTI.

I doubt you will have any problems with a 1400. Pm me your number and i will get someone to give you a bell and see what we can do...

ye i see what you meant about just passing and jumping strate into a gti lol, neva happen unless youv got deep pockets realy.

I previously had a zr (dont critiseze,i didnt have a choice as it was bought for me) which imo is dificult to source parts for in the unlucky event of an accident, there prity nippy for a 1.4 and in comparison to a rover 25 they cost the earthto insure and tax, mind you im happy that im not forever breaking down anymore but i dont want to pay the same or similar premium for my golf as both cars are in completly diffarent leags

Anyway you should have my details on your system anyway as iv rung up quite a few times but il pm you my details mate.

Thanx
