I drove to work this morning, only a few miles and noticed how rough the ride was. When I got out to check, the rear suspension had dropped several inches and there's no bounce to it at all.
As the day has gone on it has gone back up a little bit. Does this sounds like a have a leak and that it probably froze last night?

Could be broken springs, they will be more brittle at lower temperatures.
-
snaped spring sounds like it's sat on the bump stops

What susupension setup have you got on your car and how old is it?.... would be very surprised if it dropped so far due to being frozen!.... the above sounds more likely.

Sounds more like a broken spring.

Wait for the shreaded tyre, that'll be your spring broken then. More prone to break in this weather unfortunatley.

check in the boot to make sure the top of the shock hasnt pushed thru the upper spring cup

If it was this though, the car would still bounce. I assume you are talking about the circlip having popped off?
easy way to check is to open the boot, and just push the back up and down, will soon see the parcel shelf supports being pushed up and down if it has.
