does anyone have a mk2 1988 gti drivers seat going spare?
or is it possible to buy,beg steal or make a new foam base for one- its only really the base i need as the bolster has decided to self-destruct after 17 years and 145000 miles of service, also are the drivers and passengers seat bases interchangeable?- if so i could swap it over- but then the missus would have to walk!!

if you remove the cloth cover you are able to swap the foam peice over for better ones if that's what you mean.

yeah go to a scrappy and get a decent passenger seat then pull your drivers one apart and replace the sh!tty bolstered base with the firmer passenger one.

can you do that with leathers? Possible to make your own custom foam piece?

i assume so. they are just the same as cloth seats after all. mine are out of a g60 and as far as i can tell they are the same as standard gti ones so can't see it being a problem.
