Title: VR6 Front Dam
Post by: Stirring Moose on 15 December 2010, 19:38
Ok, before the torrents of abuse start, I have used the Search function but not quite getting what I'm after. I'm wanting a VR6 front air dam but there seem to be a lot out there. Eurowagens seem to crop up a fair bit. Anybody running one of theirs and is it ok?

I'm running a Eurowagens one, got no complaints at all! It's taken a battering and is still in one piece plus it has loads of flex in it unlike some of the eBay jobbies. I'd definately buy one again, the only downside is a small gap where the 2 sides join....i'll try and dig out a pic!

The gap is meant to be there and was there on a genuine one I had too.

Eurowagen's splitter is probably the best one, although I have broken mine quite badly :D None of them are indestructable lol.

I just cable tie the splits and cracks together :D

went to wash the car this morning and found some tw@ts have nicked the VR6 splitter from my GTi, well annoying
not even as if i've ripped it off on a kerb or a speed bump or something, the screw holes are complete! Eurowagons still the best bet?

Well I've now gone ahead and got me a Eurowagens VR6 dam and I'm pretty happy with it. I run standard ride height so can't really say one way or another how strong it is but it certainly looks tidy enough. Cheers for the original info Dom.

i'm going to get one from Eurowagens, website says they're closed for business until the end of next week though, not sure if i should put the order in yet
is it pretty easy to fit then? do you just clip it on? much prefer the look over standard, but i don't want it to be stolen again

Well I put my order in when they were closed for Christmas and they still got it sorted ok when they reopened. As for ease of fitting, technically yes, it's dead easy to fit. In practice it's a bit of a fiddly sod but nothing required beyond a bit of perseverence!

I would say genuine ALL day but to be fair the guys running eurowagens ones on here seem to be getting along fine!
@Kells, I have a genuine one but my gap is HUGE because i've beaten it up SO much :D
But its still holding on perfectly

Very simple to fit, just clips in. If your worried about it being stolen just put a couple of screws through it into the bumper
